The Lonely road is sometimes the right one
When you’ve got 10,000 people trying to do the same thing, why would you want to be number 10,001?
What Makes you, you
In a recent interview, Cuban expressed his feelings towards success and freshly emerging businesses. “When you’ve got 10,000 people trying to do the same thing, why would you want to be number 10,001?” Words spoken by a true individual, this should ring true for anyone looking to change the world.
Repeating something that has already been done will do nothing more than saturate the market with one-dimensional workers, and really do nothing for you. Making yourself non-expendable and distinguishable is a reason why successful people are successful.
For starters, it is imperative that you lay the groundwork by breaking down your interests, what you’re good at, and how you choose to operate. Taking advice is one thing, but you should never change the framework of what makes you, you.
Ultimately, people will respect you and value your opinion more when you consistently stick to your guns- this is a sign of confidence and gives you an invisible aura that rubs off on others.
If it doesn’t feel right, don’t bother.
A lot of people settle for a job or career that they do not feel happy or comfortable with. Just because the job market is tough and finding a job can be strenuous, doesn’t mean you should pounce on the first opportunity that presents itself.
If you aren’t 100% happy with the career (journey) you are about to take on, don’t bother, even if it means sacrificing pay for happiness. You’ll ultimately be more satisfied with yourself for sticking to what you believe in, instead of filling the gap in a position. And regardless of how you begin your journey, if you are in a field that is intrinsically motivating, you will always perform better than those who are not, which will ultimately lead to being more successful.
In the past people used to tell me to shut up a bit. But what I believe is to put out your opinion and let everyone else react. If I’m wrong I’m wrong. People are afraid to put out their opinions and get push back.
– Mark Cuban
Don’t be afraid of failure or being wrong.
Just because you have passion for something doesn’t mean you’re always going to be right. Speaking with conviction about a topic doesn’t make you a genius, yet it does separate you from the pack. There is a strange thing that is also synonymous amongst successful people and it’s that they’re all human! In other words, we all make mistakes, the key to these mistakes is to allow them to be your biggest growing points. Do not, under any circumstances, let these shortfalls discourage your goals. Self-doubt is the number 1 reason why people give up on their dreams and end up selling themselves short.
